Bio/Description

Michael is an observational astronomer, using large surveys of the sky to explore the nature and evolution of galaxies, the supermassive black holes that they often host, and the large-scale structure of the universe. He has been a faculty member since 1995. Michael grew up in Berkeley, California, and did his undergraduate and graduate studies there before eventually finding his way to Princeton. He loves to travel and spend time in nature.
